Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty)

Part of the breast tissue, fat and excess skin is removed to make the breasts smaller, and the shape of the breasts and the position of the nipples are adjusted at the same time. It is suitable for people who feel strain on the shoulders and neck because of large breasts, who tend to have sweating and chafing under the breasts, or who want a smaller bust.
The position and length of the incisions depend on the size of the breasts and how much reduction is needed. Common patterns are around the areola, around the areola plus a vertical line (lollipop pattern), and these plus an incision in the fold under the breast (inverted-T pattern). The doctor will recommend the method after examining you at your consultation.
The surgery leaves scars and may affect nipple sensation and future breastfeeding.
This may suit you if
- Your breasts are large and strain your shoulders, neck or back
- The skin under your breasts tends to sweat and chafe
- You want a smaller bust and a better fit in clothes
Mastopexy (breast lift)
With age, pregnancy and breastfeeding, or weight changes, the skin and supporting tissues of the breasts loosen, and the breasts and nipples drop lower. A breast lift removes excess skin, reshapes the breasts, and moves the nipples and areolas to a higher position.
The incision patterns are similar to those of breast reduction and are chosen according to the degree of sagging. This surgery aims to improve shape and position; it does not make the breasts larger.
This may suit you if
- Your breasts have dropped or lost fullness after childbirth or breastfeeding
- Your nipples sit low
- You want to improve the shape of your breasts
Nipple reduction
Nipple reduction is surgery to adjust the size and shape of the nipples. Common concerns include nipples that are large or long, irregularly shaped or asymmetrical, or that have become larger after breastfeeding.
We remove the excess part that makes the nipple long or large and then suture the nipple into a smaller shape, which can reduce both its diameter and its height. Only part of the tissue is removed, and the milk ducts involved in breastfeeding are preserved as far as possible.
Areola reduction
This surgery is for people who are bothered by large areolas. There are two main methods: a circular incision around the base of the nipple, or reduction from the outer edge of the areola.
The doctor will recommend a suitable method after an examination. With either method, excess tissue of the areola and its surroundings is removed and the areola is sutured to make it smaller. Because the incision is placed at the base of the nipple or at the outer edge of the areola, the scar is usually hard to notice. The breast gland is not cut, and breastfeeding is usually not affected.
Inverted nipple correction
An inverted nipple is a nipple that stays drawn inward instead of protruding. In addition to possibly interfering with breastfeeding, it can lead to inflammation of the breast gland or nipple; many people also wish to have it corrected for cosmetic reasons.
A nipple that protrudes when stimulated is called a pseudo-inverted nipple, and one that does not protrude even then is called a true inverted nipple.
We first draw the nipple out, then make an incision where the scar is less noticeable and secure it with sutures to reduce the chance of it inverting again.
Accessory breast removal
Accessory breasts are extra breast tissue or nipples that appear in the area from the armpit to the chest. Some people also use the term for fat that builds up in front of the armpits. Accessory breasts may swell or hurt around menstruation or during pregnancy.
When an accessory breast consists mainly of breast tissue, it is usually removed through an incision in the armpit crease; when it consists mainly of fat, liposuction may be chosen instead. The doctor will recommend the method after an examination.
Breast implant removal
After breast augmentation with implants at another clinic, problems such as capsular contracture, deformity or displacement may occur, or you may be dissatisfied with the result. We can remove the implants for you.
Whenever possible, the implants are removed through the original incision used when they were placed. Depending on the condition of the capsule, the capsule may also need to be removed at the same time (capsulectomy).
When you contact us, please tell us as much as you can about when the implants were placed, at which clinic, and the type of implant.
Asymmetry, tuberous breasts, changes after childbirth

When the breasts differ in size or shape between left and right, when the lower part of the breast is underdeveloped and the breast has a tubular shape (tuberous breasts), or when the shape of the breasts has changed after childbirth, a combination of methods is often needed. The doctor will examine you at your consultation and explain the treatment options.
All of the above treatments are self-pay (not covered by insurance). For prices, please see our Prices page.
